RE: Chatlog from Second Life Virtual Tech Test Zone Conference
Please find below the raw chatlog of the Second Life version of the Tech Test Zone Conference on November 15, 2011, from about 9am to 5pm. In addition I have pulled some interesting quotes from the chatlog for your reference.
QUESTIONS AND QUOTES DURING THE CONFERENCE
ON THE MAGIC BEHIND EXHIBITS
TR Amat (from the UK) on Seeing the Tech Behind Exhibits
TR Amat: QUESTION: Is the technology still visible, for those who are interested in it?
Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): TR Amat, which technology?
TR Amat: The technology that makes the museum exhibits "magic".
Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I'm not sure he's talking about any particular exhibit. He was speaking from a more conceptual level.
TR Amat: I was asking about the conceptual level of making the presentation tech visible to those interested. In a museum I like to know what I'm looking at, and how the presentation works. Adds to the fun...
ON DIGITAL FOAM APPLICATIONS
Bjorlyn Loon: I wonder whether this design could be used to make sculpties
Alizarin Goldflake: digital prototyping… digital 3 D printing… any 3 D thing… from art to something functional
ON EYE-TRACKING APPLICATIONS
Bjorlyn Loon: sharing your own visual narrative in real time
Bjorlyn Loon: lol this is even another layer!!! seeing something through someone's eyes on video, in real life, streamed into second life… tell me thats easy to wrap head around
Lnn Nishi: Would eye tracking be useful for people who cannot see very well? I wonder if it can sharpen images so people can see clearer with "glasses"
Chimera Cosmos: In visualization research it's used to find out whether students, etc. are looking where you expect or want them to look in a visualization.
techiedavid: the eye jumps around so much there will have to be some filtering on where the viewer is "settled" on
Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): it can bea very good tool for people who dont have their hands, anymore, to use the web, those who uses some head set, with a sort of tool attached to it,
On RFID APPLICATIONS
techiedavid: a school can keep track of where the kids went and be sure they see everything that they wanted and not just fooled around in the cafeteria or outside
Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): Q :were the participant traveling in different contry, and climats, getting a global perspective?did they get a new perspective from it?
Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): it would be nice to have it across institutions
Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): and for later online looginh in the museum??
Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): so you could track learning from place to place, earn badges, points, etc
techiedavid: a univeral card for all museums would be great
Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): the Smithsonian would be a great place for this since they are like 20 museums
Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): online card, to come in,,,
techiedavid: I remember look at an art exhibit at the UCLA Hammer and saw a picture that I though I saw at the Getty. It would have been nice to have a history that I could have cross checked.
Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): there was something similar , traveling throught the world and getting stamps ina passeport in ottawa museum, and we could havea litle list of material to find out,and kids were very very invalve with their parents, and learning a lot
GENERAL TAKEAWAYS
Alizarin Goldflake: i got - start with the dream… start with the impractical… then get the technology
Lnn Nishi: Reachin to the entire famiyly.... other ways of reaching people who are not comfortable with technology too.... multiple ways of going after the same goal
GENERAL FEEDBACK
Several participants asked if there were going to be made available reports, slides, links, and other lists of resources from the conference.
Alizarin Goldflake: this is my 8th hour at this conference on line… first i was in reaction.. which totally didnt work. Pathfinder and co didnt have the video… it was just a chat room.. i was kind of surprised he didnt have the video… so the deal was have the channel going on the internet and then chat about it in JIBE. this experience at Tech Virtual is far superior
Alizarin Goldflake: good job :)… please give my thanks to Agent Bob :)

[2011/11/15 12:50] Alizarin Goldflake: andhe goes to australia
[2011/11/15 12:51] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what are some possible applications of digital foam?
[2011/11/15 12:51] Alizarin Goldflake: wonder if he knows the speaker
[2011/11/15 12:51] Alizarin Goldflake: digital prototyping
[2011/11/15 12:51] Bjorlyn Loon: TR .... robots!
[2011/11/15 12:51] Alizarin Goldflake: digital 3 D printing
[2011/11/15 12:52] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): but to produce what?
[2011/11/15 12:52] Alizarin Goldflake: any 3 D thing
[2011/11/15 12:52] Alizarin Goldflake: from art to something functional
[2011/11/15 12:52] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): well yeah but who and how would it be used?
[2011/11/15 12:52] Chimera Cosmos: Is there a link to info on the RL event?
[2011/11/15 12:53] Chimera Cosmos: sorry if I missed one earlier...
[2011/11/15 12:53] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): http://testzone2011.eventbrite.com/
[2011/11/15 12:53] Chimera Cosmos: thanks!
[2011/11/15 12:53] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Sorry Chimera
[2011/11/15 12:53] Alizarin Goldflake: well now they have the ability to 3D print jet plane wings!
[2011/11/15 12:53] Bjorlyn Loon: well, I was thinking about something Ive been working on with mountain lion feet
[2011/11/15 12:53] Bjorlyn Loon: we want an exhibit to show how different terrain affects the tracks an animal leaves behind
[2011/11/15 12:54] Alizarin Goldflake: i have a ring that was designed via cadcam and the prototype for the mold was 3 D printed
[2011/11/15 12:54] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what are some possible applications of digital foam?
[2011/11/15 12:54] Bjorlyn Loon: you could create a digital surface sensitive to presure, and use varying covrs to demo
[2011/11/15 12:54] Alizarin Goldflake: yes it dies
[2011/11/15 12:54] Bjorlyn Loon: if that makes any sense
[2011/11/15 12:54] Alizarin Goldflake: does!
[2011/11/15 12:54] Bjorlyn Loon: questions for the speaker?
[2011/11/15 12:54] Alizarin Goldflake: sorry!
[2011/11/15 12:54] Bjorlyn Loon: glad you understand alz
[2011/11/15 12:55] Alizarin Goldflake: ask him if he has thought of interfacing digital foam with 3 d software like blender
[2011/11/15 12:55] Bjorlyn Loon: you could then show a representation of actually walking through a forest on the screen for example
[2011/11/15 12:55] Alizarin Goldflake: yes you could
[2011/11/15 12:55] Alizarin Goldflake: Q for the speaker: ask him if he has thought of interfacing digital foam with 3 d software like blender
[2011/11/15 12:56] Bjorlyn Loon: he answered that I think, showed how it was used with a couple of 3d software programs
[2011/11/15 12:56] Bjorlyn Loon: rik?
[2011/11/15 12:56] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): yes he did
[2011/11/15 12:56] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that's right
[2011/11/15 12:56] Alizarin Goldflake: oops missed that
[2011/11/15 12:56] Bjorlyn Loon: again for the mountain lion
[2011/11/15 12:57] Bjorlyn Loon: you could have someone on the foam pad, and try to leap across a divide on the screen
[2011/11/15 12:57] Bjorlyn Loon: how far can you jump kind of thing
[2011/11/15 12:57] Chimera Cosmos: so which of you are there in RL too?
[2011/11/15 12:58] Bjorlyn Loon: Rik and I and Stina
[2011/11/15 12:58] Chimera Cosmos: cool
[2011/11/15 12:58] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): this is what i was wondering while watching to the room
[2011/11/15 12:58] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): you can see me in the front wearing a vest
[2011/11/15 12:58] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): lol
[2011/11/15 12:58] Chimera Cosmos: who are the "most famous" folks in the room?
[2011/11/15 12:58] Chimera Cosmos: whose names we might know...
[2011/11/15 12:58] Chimera Cosmos: heh
[2011/11/15 12:58] Chimera Cosmos: Well, Rik of course. ;-)
[2011/11/15 12:58] Bjorlyn Loon: that's stina talking now
[2011/11/15 12:58] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): who is holding the camera
[2011/11/15 12:58] Bjorlyn Loon: I forgot her real life name
[2011/11/15 12:59] Bjorlyn Loon: oops her SL name
[2011/11/15 12:59] Chimera Cosmos: "I think it's called haptics" LOL
[2011/11/15 12:59] Bjorlyn Loon: do you know, Rik?
[2011/11/15 12:59] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): who is the camera person? no
[2011/11/15 13:02] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): hands puppeting maybe, not full avatar i guess
[2011/11/15 13:03] Chimera Cosmos: not so new
[2011/11/15 13:03] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): next presentation: “Pixel -Using Eye Tracking to Engage and Educate Your Audience” by John MacDuffie Woodburn and Matt Miller
[2011/11/15 13:03] Chimera Cosmos: used in visualization research for years and years
[2011/11/15 13:03] Chimera Cosmos: maybe new at museums
[2011/11/15 13:04] techiedavid: I wish they would use more unique names than pixel and digital clay - to generic
[2011/11/15 13:05] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i was thinking about glasses , too, wow, it s existing
[2011/11/15 13:05] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): amazing
[2011/11/15 13:06] Bjorlyn Loon: the museum actually has each of these in the new gallery
[2011/11/15 13:06] Bjorlyn Loon: this one's the largest... its interesting, but I had trouble wrapping my head around it
[2011/11/15 13:06] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): ahaha
[2011/11/15 13:07] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): it helps if you watch someone else using it
[2011/11/15 13:07] Bjorlyn Loon: sharing your own visual narrative in real time
[2011/11/15 13:08] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I'm sure lots of interesting gender-differences
[2011/11/15 13:09] Bjorlyn Loon: lol this is even another layer!!! seeing something through someone's eyes on video, in real life, streamed into second life
[2011/11/15 13:09] Bjorlyn Loon: tell me thats easy to wrap head around
[2011/11/15 13:09] Alizarin Goldflake: hehe
[2011/11/15 13:10] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I think there's a scene from City of Lost Children about that
[2011/11/15 13:10] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): kind of disturbing
[2011/11/15 13:11] Bjorlyn Loon: I have trouble understanding the added value of this one as different from just video
[2011/11/15 13:12] Bjorlyn Loon: both media capture the individual's focus
[2011/11/15 13:13] Bjorlyn Loon: I do understand that it captures expert focus
[2011/11/15 13:13] Lnn Nishi: Would eye tracking be useful for people who cannot see very well? I wonder if it can sharpen images so people can see clearer with "glasses"
[2011/11/15 13:14] Chimera Cosmos: In visualization research it's used to find out whether students, etc. are looking where you expect or want them to look in a visualization.
[2011/11/15 13:14] techiedavid: the eye jumps around so much there will have to be some filtering on where the viewer is "settled" on
[2011/11/15 13:14] Chimera Cosmos: or an image in a text book even
[2011/11/15 13:15] Chimera Cosmos: do they attend to the relevant parts?
[2011/11/15 13:15] Chimera Cosmos: Often the answer is "No" - particularly in complex images
[2011/11/15 13:15] Chimera Cosmos: the data is collected over time
[2011/11/15 13:15] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): it can bea very good tool for people who dont have their nads, anymore, to use the web, those who uses some head set, with a sort of tool attached to it,
[2011/11/15 13:15] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): hands**
[2011/11/15 13:16] Chimera Cosmos: Eye tracking devices in research, I mean
[2011/11/15 13:17] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): for injurd people, to give information on a pad, for example, when they cannott talk or moove
[2011/11/15 13:21] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): good idea
[2011/11/15 13:21] Chimera Cosmos: Is that a palm tree sticking through the screen? heheh
[2011/11/15 13:22] Alizarin Goldflake: yes heheh
[2011/11/15 13:22] Alizarin Goldflake: also a pine tree
[2011/11/15 13:22] Bjorlyn Loon: yes it is :)
[2011/11/15 13:22] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): now presenting: “RFID-enabled Interactive Exhibits by Tamara Schwarz”
[2011/11/15 13:22] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): now tracking palm tree,,,,
[2011/11/15 13:23] Bjorlyn Loon: I was really looking forward to this one.
[2011/11/15 13:23] Alizarin Goldflake: :))
[2011/11/15 13:25] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Describing Bill Nyes Climate Lab at Chabot Space and Science Center
[2011/11/15 13:27] Bjorlyn Loon: creating avatars cool!
[2011/11/15 13:28] techiedavid: hmmm could code languge into the card also so the display languge would change
[2011/11/15 13:28] Bjorlyn Loon: yes, for children vs adults for example
[2011/11/15 13:28] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): good idea for the language
[2011/11/15 13:28] Bjorlyn Loon: or return visitors, more depth
[2011/11/15 13:29] techiedavid: yes
[2011/11/15 13:29] Bjorlyn Loon: ahh, I meant text, you meant language
[2011/11/15 13:29] Bjorlyn Loon: but both!
[2011/11/15 13:30] Bjorlyn Loon: they use a similar system here at the Tech Musum by the way
[2011/11/15 13:30] techiedavid: the personalized display
[2011/11/15 13:30] Bjorlyn Loon: for example, in the new gallery, you can actually take a screen shot of your infrared camera image of yourself and send it via email to yourself at home
[2011/11/15 13:31] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): Q are they trafveling in diferent contry, and climats?
[2011/11/15 13:35] Alizarin Goldflake: i wish the audio and video were better synched
[2011/11/15 13:36] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): good , its promissing
[2011/11/15 13:37] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): any questions for our speaker?
[2011/11/15 13:39] techiedavid: a school can keep track of where the kids went and be sure they see everything that they wanted and not just fooled around in the cafeteria or outside
[2011/11/15 13:40] Alizarin Goldflake: surveillance
[2011/11/15 13:40] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): thanks techiedavid. Where are you logging in from
[2011/11/15 13:40] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): ?
[2011/11/15 13:40] techiedavid: Compton, CA
[2011/11/15 13:40] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): thanks
[2011/11/15 13:40] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): Q :were the participant traveling in different contry, and climats, getting a global perspective?did they get a new perspective from it?
[2011/11/15 13:41] Bjorlyn Loon: true, david, could create actual scholastic requirements within a museum field trip
[2011/11/15 13:41] Bjorlyn Loon: good point
[2011/11/15 13:41] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Alaya, what participants?
[2011/11/15 13:41] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): in the climate change project?
[2011/11/15 13:41] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): the one who uses the scout id game
[2011/11/15 13:41] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): ok
[2011/11/15 13:42] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): and where are you logging in from Alaya?
[2011/11/15 13:42] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): if I can ask?
[2011/11/15 13:42] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): canada
[2011/11/15 13:42] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): thanks!
[2011/11/15 13:42] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): bw
[2011/11/15 13:42] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): :)
[2011/11/15 13:44] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i wish i can soon
[2011/11/15 13:47] Bjorlyn Loon: yikes!
[2011/11/15 13:51] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): oh it wasnt about tracking,in rl, it was inside game, traveling though diferent contry,,, but it dosnt matter, thnaks for the answer,:))
[2011/11/15 13:52] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): yeah sorry I don't think she really understood. I probably did a bad job of expressing your question
[2011/11/15 13:53] Bjorlyn Loon: I think it would be harder to inegrate rfid once people left the museum... tracking whether they follow up on the website
[2011/11/15 13:53] Bjorlyn Loon: etc
[2011/11/15 13:53] Bjorlyn Loon: than say using bar codes
[2011/11/15 13:54] Bjorlyn Loon: or qr codes
[2011/11/15 13:54] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): yu did it ok, rik, maybe i should have kept the first form of my question myself, when i asked it the first time, but its good to know, about the tracking of people regions of the world too..
[2011/11/15 13:54] techiedavid: rfid tag can have both a barcode/qr or number that is assigned to it for later manual use if needed
[2011/11/15 13:54] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): techiedavid: true
[2011/11/15 13:55] Bjorlyn Loon: right, so you have to create both
[2011/11/15 13:55] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): it would be nice to have it across institutions
[2011/11/15 13:55] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): and for later online looginh in the museum??
[2011/11/15 13:55] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): so you could track learning from place to place, earn badges, points, etc
[2011/11/15 13:55] Bjorlyn Loon: I think I recall the Tech saying they were trying that across several California museums, Rik
[2011/11/15 13:55] Bjorlyn Loon: dont remember when
[2011/11/15 13:56] techiedavid: a univeral card for all museums would be great
[2011/11/15 13:56] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): the Smithsonian would be a great place for this
[2011/11/15 13:56] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): online card, to come in,,,
[2011/11/15 13:56] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): since they are like 20 museums
[2011/11/15 13:57] techiedavid: I remember look at an art exhibit at the UCLA Hammer and saw a picture that I though I saw at the Getty. It would have been nice to have a history that I could have cross checked.
[2011/11/15 13:58] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Bob is saying nice things about you alls!
[2011/11/15 13:58] Alizarin Goldflake: grin :)
[2011/11/15 13:58] techiedavid: we paid him
[2011/11/15 13:58] Bjorlyn Loon: and well-deserved
[2011/11/15 13:58] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): haha
[2011/11/15 13:58] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): there was something similar , traveling throught the world and getting stamps ina passeport in ottawa museum, and we could havea litle list of material to find out,and kids were very very invalve with their parents, and learning alot
[2011/11/15 13:58] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): but not ona computer
[2011/11/15 13:59] Chimera Cosmos: Who is speaking? I don't see his name over his head. heheh
[2011/11/15 13:59] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Robert Ketner is the conf organizer
[2011/11/15 13:59] Alizarin Goldflake: how does the Tech keep the SL content appropriate for kids?
[2011/11/15 13:59] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): ok, stretching time
[2011/11/15 13:59] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): :))
[2011/11/15 13:59] Lnn Nishi: HEHE THAT WOULD BE GREAT cHIMERA :)
[2011/11/15 13:59] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): stretch your avatar
[2011/11/15 13:59] Bjorlyn Loon: that is Bob Ketner, who is also the Tech's representative for second life
[2011/11/15 13:59] Chimera Cosmos: what's his avatar name?
[2011/11/15 13:59] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): lol
[2011/11/15 13:59] Lnn Nishi: caps sorry
[2011/11/15 14:00] Alizarin Goldflake: Rik, how does the Tech keep the SL content appropriate for kids?
[2011/11/15 14:00] Chimera Cosmos: Is that Agent Heliosense?
[2011/11/15 14:00] Chimera Cosmos: or someone new
[2011/11/15 14:00] Mechan Skytower: cant pry the kids away from the virtual world and their avatars....did you hear that!
[2011/11/15 14:00] Bjorlyn Loon: yes, thats agent
[2011/11/15 14:00] Chimera Cosmos: ah thought so
[2011/11/15 14:00] Bjorlyn Loon: :)
[2011/11/15 14:00] Alizarin Goldflake: which one is Agent?
[2011/11/15 14:01] Bjorlyn Loon: brb
[2011/11/15 14:01] Chimera Cosmos: who said SL is running there
[2011/11/15 14:01] Bjorlyn Loon: the last guy was bob ketner, agent
[2011/11/15 14:01] Alizarin Goldflake: oh i thought that was bob
[2011/11/15 14:01] Chimera Cosmos: same :-)
[2011/11/15 14:01] Chimera Cosmos: RL/SL
[2011/11/15 14:01] Alizarin Goldflake: oh!
[2011/11/15 14:01] Chimera Cosmos: heheh
[2011/11/15 14:01] Alizarin Goldflake: ty :)
[2011/11/15 14:01] Bjorlyn Loon: and SL was running in an old version because I believe philip had it running here before it ever went online
[2011/11/15 14:01] Bjorlyn Loon: some history there
[2011/11/15 14:02] Bjorlyn Loon: brb
[2011/11/15 14:02] Chimera Cosmos: ah the alpha
[2011/11/15 14:02] Chimera Cosmos: I suppose
[2011/11/15 14:02] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): next speaker: "Possibilities and Perils: How New Technologies in Museums Win and How they Fail" by Sasha Harris-Cronin
[2011/11/15 14:02] Chimera Cosmos: the last guy
[2011/11/15 14:02] Mechan Skytower: sweet :)
[2011/11/15 14:03] Mechan Skytower: I didn't get the part about assigning some grad students to try to figure out why kids are intersted?
[2011/11/15 14:03] Mechan Skytower: is this rocket science?
[2011/11/15 14:05] Chimera Cosmos: I thought he was being ironic about how kids get it fast but grad students don't ;-)
[2011/11/15 14:05] Mechan Skytower: oh...is that it? lol
[2011/11/15 14:05] Mechan Skytower: ,.·^*'´|'\ ,.·^*'´¯¯¯'`*^·, ,/ |'`*^·-,

[2011/11/15 14:07] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what just happened?
[2011/11/15 14:07] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what did I miss?
[2011/11/15 14:07] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): oh lol
[2011/11/15 14:07] Chimera Cosmos: Chimera Cosmos grabs door
[2011/11/15 14:09] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): presenting now : “How to get People off the Couch and Interact with the World with Augmented Reality Games” by Rick Ernst
[2011/11/15 14:14] Bjorlyn Loon: hey alisa
[2011/11/15 14:15] Alizarin Goldflake: Hi Alisa :)
[2011/11/15 14:15] Alisa Cleanslate: hey Bjorlyn
[2011/11/15 14:15] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): welcome
[2011/11/15 14:15] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i lost the video now
[2011/11/15 14:15] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): we are learning about augmented reality games
[2011/11/15 14:16] Bjorlyn Loon: alizarin, you asked about how they handle the issues of kids using SL at the Tech
[2011/11/15 14:16] Alizarin Goldflake: Bjorlyn, how does the Tech keep the SL content appropriate for kids?
[2011/11/15 14:16] Alizarin Goldflake: yes snap!
[2011/11/15 14:16] Bjorlyn Loon: its an old version, and operative only in the tech
[2011/11/15 14:16] Alizarin Goldflake: oh like OS local?
[2011/11/15 14:16] Bjorlyn Loon: my recollection is that Phillip showed SL to the people at the Tech before SL ever came online
[2011/11/15 14:16] Alizarin Goldflake: wow!
[2011/11/15 14:16] Bjorlyn Loon: he was on the board for a time
[2011/11/15 14:17] Bjorlyn Loon: and so there is a long relationship
[2011/11/15 14:17] Alizarin Goldflake: that is interesting!
[2011/11/15 14:17] Bjorlyn Loon: he spoke her a few years ago, when they did the first Tech Virtual exhibit design challenge
[2011/11/15 14:17] Bjorlyn Loon: here
[2011/11/15 14:17] Alizarin Goldflake: very cool
[2011/11/15 14:17] Matt2 Ultsch: it is cool
[2011/11/15 14:17] Alizarin Goldflake: those were the good old days
[2011/11/15 14:18] Chimera Cosmos: DOS techie pronunciation of dos equis?
[2011/11/15 14:18] Bjorlyn Loon: :)
[2011/11/15 14:18] Chimera Cosmos: heh
[2011/11/15 14:18] toBe Destiny: the work that is being done , also on creating the cognitive architecture for social media
[2011/11/15 14:18] Misha Thistle: Hi Chimera
[2011/11/15 14:19] Chimera Cosmos: hey!
[2011/11/15 14:19] toBe Destiny: this cognitive architecture may allow social media use to evolve beyond games...
[2011/11/15 14:19] Chimera Cosmos: Live from the St. Louis Science Center?
[2011/11/15 14:20] toBe Destiny: and to thus address those elements of social value which might bring "us" back into some type of "natural " alignment
[2011/11/15 14:20] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): is that where you are, chimera?
[2011/11/15 14:20] Chimera Cosmos: STL yes
[2011/11/15 14:20] Chimera Cosmos: and Misha is from here too
[2011/11/15 14:20] toBe Destiny: .. the point is that we develop in an unequal way.. perhaps
[2011/11/15 14:21] toBe Destiny: very positive development of virtual worlds, but is there a possible cognitive, shared cognitive, dimension that is not being developed ... so far
[2011/11/15 14:24] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): for cog it would be things like EEG and a group or pair doing a single function together. Another way is in things like puzzles that need more than one to complete.
[2011/11/15 14:26] toBe Destiny: or one could use what is called ontology, a computer representation of the elements of thought
[2011/11/15 14:27] toBe Destiny: i agree the the neuroscience will lead us here, as we understand how to create "social brain" mechanisms
[2011/11/15 14:27] Bjorlyn Loon: interesting you mention ontologies, destiny, Im in the ontology phase of developing a knowledge base for a nonprofit
[2011/11/15 14:27] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that spell casting game sounds fun
[2011/11/15 14:27] Bjorlyn Loon: yeah, it does, doesn't it, Rik
[2011/11/15 14:28] toBe Destiny: well, RDF and OWL ontology has some real advances in the past ten years, but still are too largely influnced by the false notions from AI
[2011/11/15 14:28] toBe Destiny: the work I had done on the social brain is at:
[2011/11/15 14:29] Bjorlyn Loon: i bet the libraries loved that
[2011/11/15 14:29] toBe Destiny: http://www.liftingpedagogy.com/pdf/MathematicsEducationProposal.pdf
[2011/11/15 14:29] Bjorlyn Loon: LOL
[2011/11/15 14:29] Matt2 Ultsch: sounds intense
[2011/11/15 14:30] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): you can also doo mood based things and coupling with multiple people in a 3D sim
[2011/11/15 14:30] toBe Destiny: if anyone would like to talk with me about these notions that a brain for social media might in fact in early in a natural evolution
[2011/11/15 14:30] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): http://www.emotiv.com/
[2011/11/15 14:30] toBe Destiny: mood linking is of interest
[2011/11/15 14:30] toBe Destiny: but the idea is that a single coherence "narrative" might develop and persist independant of whose is in the group at a moment
[2011/11/15 14:30] Chimera Cosmos: "every single one"? I doubt that LOL
[2011/11/15 14:31] Chimera Cosmos: there are zillions
[2011/11/15 14:32] toBe Destiny: .. our central problem might be that our educaitonal system has all but failed to deliver the science we have about behavioral neuroscience
[2011/11/15 14:32] toBe Destiny: so even having a discussion about "the social brain" in a virtual environemtn is made very hard
[2011/11/15 14:32] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): each will have there own niches also they like. So good diversity is going to help a lot also
[2011/11/15 14:32] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): its a very young science aanyway
[2011/11/15 14:32] Bjorlyn Loon: hmmm perhaps we've failed to make the learning fun
[2011/11/15 14:32] toBe Destiny: it is too often thought that the discussion cannot be directed at core issues
[2011/11/15 14:32] toBe Destiny: i think that leanring and fun
[2011/11/15 14:33] toBe Destiny: shoudl be seen as very different
[2011/11/15 14:33] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i guess learning isnt fun anymore, fora lot of people
[2011/11/15 14:33] toBe Destiny: that that making "education" into "games" is a serious mistake
[2011/11/15 14:33] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): that dosnt mean game,s but fun
[2011/11/15 14:33] toBe Destiny: education is far more complex than entertainment
[2011/11/15 14:33] Bjorlyn Loon: to me, education IS entertainment
[2011/11/15 14:33] Alizarin Goldflake: yes making education into games is dumbing down
[2011/11/15 14:33] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): pleasure and afects are linked to the social brain is it
[2011/11/15 14:34] qwerty Aria: different people like to learn different things, thats why many find it boring and annoying to be learnt what they don't want to learn
[2011/11/15 14:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): games are a form of learning
[2011/11/15 14:34] toBe Destiny: (do not mean to be serious about this, but really - the idea of making learning fun might be a really really bad concept)
[2011/11/15 14:34] toBe Destiny: and may be part of why we have this continuing crisis in American education
[2011/11/15 14:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): learning can be both enjoyable and hard
[2011/11/15 14:34] Alizarin Goldflake: learning is its own kind of fun
[2011/11/15 14:34] Bjorlyn Loon: I have to agree eith Rik... there is no reason not to make games out of learning and learning out of games
[2011/11/15 14:34] Chimera Cosmos: yes, if it's learning with a purpose
[2011/11/15 14:34] toBe Destiny: learning is it own type of achievement
[2011/11/15 14:34] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i am sorry but fun is waht brought me here, and its fun to learn what was demonstrated today here
[2011/11/15 14:34] Chimera Cosmos: that you value
[2011/11/15 14:34] qwerty Aria: learning is fun as long as there is reward for it :-p
[2011/11/15 14:35] toBe Destiny: well, when you say there is no reason
[2011/11/15 14:35] Alizarin Goldflake: and Rik I agree that you can learn a lot from games
[2011/11/15 14:35] Bjorlyn Loon: dont apologize, alaya
[2011/11/15 14:35] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): learning is fun in itself
[2011/11/15 14:35] toBe Destiny: are you open to question this?
[2011/11/15 14:35] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): yes but so much better to learn when it's fun and also engaging. It even imprints with a heavier mimetic nural weight
[2011/11/15 14:35] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): its a way of saying, bjorling, , not really an apology:))
[2011/11/15 14:35] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): next speaker: "Possibilities and Perils: How New Technologies in Museums Win and How they Fail" by Sasha Harris-Cronin
[2011/11/15 14:35] toBe Destiny: there in fact may be a cogntiive load that is developed, a type of dependancy on the "fun"
[2011/11/15 14:36] toBe Destiny: we live in a social world where we vlaue often the wrong things...
[2011/11/15 14:36] toBe Destiny: being entertained by a commerical process might also be a means to extract wealth form many
[2011/11/15 14:36] Chimera Cosmos: sounds very Calvinistic or Puritanistic toBe
[2011/11/15 14:36] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i dont think we have to go back to dorian theory and lydian about emotions and seriousness
[2011/11/15 14:36] Alizarin Goldflake: i see sense in what ToBe says
[2011/11/15 14:36] toBe Destiny: so that there is a deep argument that if educators do not see the vast difference betwene being entertained and actually learning
[2011/11/15 14:36] Chimera Cosmos: depends -- everything in moderation
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: then we are in trouble
[2011/11/15 14:37] Alizarin Goldflake: i was in educational publishing a long time ago and that was a huge mistake they made
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: moderation
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: yes
[2011/11/15 14:37] Chimera Cosmos: and it pays to be flexible
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: we supply games
[2011/11/15 14:37] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): there is a line between only entertaining and relative pleasure to learn
[2011/11/15 14:37] Chimera Cosmos: in our thinkning
[2011/11/15 14:37] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): yes chimera
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: not in a moderate way
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: but in a way that is adictive
[2011/11/15 14:37] Chimera Cosmos: and learning is good!
[2011/11/15 14:37] Chimera Cosmos: heh
[2011/11/15 14:37] Chimera Cosmos: learning moderation
[2011/11/15 14:37] toBe Destiny: learning how to excape into an illustion may be made fun
[2011/11/15 14:38] toBe Destiny: for example
[2011/11/15 14:38] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): my son is having fun to learn in architecture, but if it was only serious he woudnt like it as much
[2011/11/15 14:38] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): moderation for seriousness is good too
[2011/11/15 14:38] Chimera Cosmos: yeah, kids have to be kids part of the time -- maybe all of it
[2011/11/15 14:38] toBe Destiny: ... we say these thypes of things Alaya, but really do we mean something
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: types
[2011/11/15 14:39] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): lol
[2011/11/15 14:39] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): maybe he can tell yu
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: do you really know, or are we all caught into a tyep of false agreement
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: including him
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: and you
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: and etc
[2011/11/15 14:39] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): we are permanent learner here, continuous learner, so we mean something
[2011/11/15 14:39] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): chimera ask a old person if they feel like a kid at times. I don't think we lose that inner child so to say
[2011/11/15 14:39] Chimera Cosmos: since it's impossible to know, we all just have to do the best we can
[2011/11/15 14:39] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): fun is part of it
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: sigh
[2011/11/15 14:39] toBe Destiny: ..blessing all
[2011/11/15 14:40] Chimera Cosmos: Glass half full vs glass half empty
[2011/11/15 14:40] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): feel free to discuss whatever here. But might want to focus on what the speaker is talking about .
[2011/11/15 14:40] Alizarin Goldflake: yes I cant follow both!
[2011/11/15 14:40] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): In case you want to ask a question or comment to her later.
[2011/11/15 14:40] qwerty Aria: ugh I am at very wrong place (game programmer)... and I strongly disagree on taking out fun out of learning, eh...
[2011/11/15 14:41] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): pleasure is always an aspect of why we do things in the world
[2011/11/15 14:41] Matt2 Ultsch: would love to go to these museums
[2011/11/15 14:41] Bjorlyn Loon: I think most agree that learning should be fun, qwerty
[2011/11/15 14:41] Bjorlyn Loon: you are in the right place
[2011/11/15 14:41] Chimera Cosmos: indeed
[2011/11/15 14:41] toBe Destiny: the brain stem is what drives this"pleasure"
[2011/11/15 14:42] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): especially programming, indeed, i realised tha ti liked to build pcs,, something that was not even suspected, before, everybody told me it was serious,, i liked it so much that i never stoped doing it for 15 years
[2011/11/15 14:42] toBe Destiny: but in reality the neuroscience indicates that this drive manifest in many ways
[2011/11/15 14:42] Alizarin Goldflake: fascinating but ...
[2011/11/15 14:42] Chimera Cosmos: What Rik? You wish to control the SL backchannel? heheh
[2011/11/15 14:42] Bjorlyn Loon: wow the parachute thing is excellent!
[2011/11/15 14:42] Chimera Cosmos: Lots of luck
[2011/11/15 14:43] toBe Destiny: the problem, some of us have, is the giving pleasure is all too often linked with other things such as consuption
[2011/11/15 14:43] Matt2 Ultsch: thakns everybody! life interrupts
[2011/11/15 14:43] toBe Destiny: so there is little learning about how to be part of a social world that is not harming balances
[2011/11/15 14:43] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): thanks for coming Matt2
[2011/11/15 14:44] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): well, depression is the load of to much seriousness, a good balance, is necessary
[2011/11/15 14:44] toBe Destiny: self seerving
[2011/11/15 14:44] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): "people assume that all screens are touch screens"
[2011/11/15 14:44] Alizarin Goldflake: that is fascinating
[2011/11/15 14:45] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): i lost the video, is it still running?
[2011/11/15 14:45] toBe Destiny: .... the absence of seriousness of the right type is perhaps a greater problem that is regarding without this community
[2011/11/15 14:45] toBe Destiny: yes
[2011/11/15 14:46] toBe Destiny: nice talk
[2011/11/15 14:46] Chimera Cosmos: yes still running
[2011/11/15 14:46] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): ah i have to relog again,
[2011/11/15 14:46] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): brb
[2011/11/15 14:47] toBe Destiny: i wonder if the idea of creating content using her work could be thought of in any other way other than "creating games"
[2011/11/15 14:47] toBe Destiny: i think so
[2011/11/15 14:47] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): http://research.nokia.com/news/12134
[2011/11/15 14:48] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): she isn't talking about games
[2011/11/15 14:48] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that was the previous speaker
[2011/11/15 14:48] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): she's talking about museum exhibits that she has designed
[2011/11/15 14:48] toBe Destiny: limit it
[2011/11/15 14:48] toBe Destiny: smiles
[2011/11/15 14:49] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): interfacing is part of the game structure, though a lot can also be hooked or such into existing systems and code structures
[2011/11/15 14:49] toBe Destiny: yes, this is what is being set up, a "new world out there"
[2011/11/15 14:49] toBe Destiny: in the words of TRON
[2011/11/15 14:50] toBe Destiny: virtual frontier
[2011/11/15 14:50] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): Pfft tron is to little in scope. We will want a lot more to match the diversity of people
[2011/11/15 14:51] toBe Destiny: there are some deep thougths in the movie
[2011/11/15 14:51] toBe Destiny: and yes, no one see s yet where this going
[2011/11/15 14:51] Chimera Cosmos: spouse is a huge Darwin fan - would love to go there
[2011/11/15 14:52] Bjorlyn Loon: I got to visit BEFORE the opening
[2011/11/15 14:52] Bjorlyn Loon: was very cool
[2011/11/15 14:52] Chimera Cosmos: cool
[2011/11/15 14:52] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): sounds like a really cool museum
[2011/11/15 14:53] Bjorlyn Loon: check it out if you go to London, Rik
[2011/11/15 14:53] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I might be there soon!
[2011/11/15 14:54] Chimera Cosmos: sweet
[2011/11/15 14:54] Chimera Cosmos: I agree with her on that -- I hate having to keep track of a paper thing
[2011/11/15 14:55] Chimera Cosmos: maybe they need a system to re-issue for returning visitors
[2011/11/15 14:56] Bjorlyn Loon: that was helpful
[2011/11/15 14:57] Bjorlyn Loon: for me anyway
[2011/11/15 14:57] Alizarin Goldflake: who hasnt spoken yet - jim spadaccinni?
[2011/11/15 14:58] Alizarin Goldflake: yes
[2011/11/15 14:58] Bjorlyn Loon: if you are interested in joining the SL group
[2011/11/15 14:58] Fer Fackler: if you haven't heard of Open Exhibits - check it out: www.openexhibits.org
[2011/11/15 14:58] Chimera Cosmos: ice cream!
[2011/11/15 14:59] Chimera Cosmos: Chimera Cosmos wants
[2011/11/15 14:59] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): sorry no ice cream in SL!
[2011/11/15 14:59] ice cream?
[2011/11/15 14:59] Bjorlyn Loon: and prototyping exhibits in SL
[2011/11/15 14:59] Chimera Cosmos: bah
[2011/11/15 14:59] Bjorlyn Loon: the group is Tech Exhibit Designers
[2011/11/15 14:59] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): next speaker: “Open Exhibits – Community Software for Multitouch and Motion Recognition” by Jim Spadaccini
[2011/11/15 15:00] Chimera Cosmos: froze
[2011/11/15 15:00] Chimera Cosmos: is it just me?
[2011/11/15 15:00] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): it froze here too
[2011/11/15 15:01] Alizarin Goldflake: yep frozen for me
[2011/11/15 15:01] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): I can still move here
[2011/11/15 15:01] Chimera Cosmos: no the video
[2011/11/15 15:01] Alizarin Goldflake: no the video
[2011/11/15 15:01] Chimera Cosmos: is frozen
[2011/11/15 15:01] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): the video only froze
[2011/11/15 15:01] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): now its fine
[2011/11/15 15:01] Chimera Cosmos: not us heheh
[2011/11/15 15:01] Alizarin Goldflake: did the internet channel freeze?
[2011/11/15 15:01] Lnn Nishi: ustream is still streaming with sound
[2011/11/15 15:01] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): might want to stop and restart
[2011/11/15 15:01] …ñ ä÷Ü»∂ ’°«ü ü”Ñ…õ Ä (laborious.aftermath): Ah yep the video keeps freezing on me also
[2011/11/15 15:02] Alaya Chépaspourquoi (alaya.kumaki): the stream can come back, by toggling the video icone, on the botom of the screen sometime
[2011/11/15 15:02] Chimera Cosmos: yeah click on/off/on worked

[2011/11/15 16:10] Alizarin Goldflake: asked a Q earlier?
[2011/11/15 16:10] Lnn Nishi: He mentioned a table for Civil War history? There was a wonderful WWI Remembrance sim. Don't know if it is still there, but it was really moving. Stories of the cvets, being in a battlefield
[2011/11/15 16:10] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): by default you all are at the Second Life table
[2011/11/15 16:11] Alizarin Goldflake: ty Rik
[2011/11/15 16:11] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): 1. does the the exhibit know that I'm here?
[2011/11/15 16:11] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): 2. Do I matter? Am I contributing something?
[2011/11/15 16:12] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): 3. Do I care? Does it meet my greatest expectations?
[2011/11/15 16:12] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): 4. Do I return? Does it have impact on me?
[2011/11/15 16:14] Alizarin Goldflake: :)
[2011/11/15 16:14] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I'll do my best to keep you involved
[2011/11/15 16:14] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): These are exhibit makeover questions
[2011/11/15 16:21] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): do these questions stimulate you to think about your SL spaces?
[2011/11/15 16:21] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): and what works and doesn't about them?
[2011/11/15 16:22] Alizarin Goldflake: you mean the spaces we design here?
[2011/11/15 16:22] Alizarin Goldflake: is there a way to get his questionaire into copiable text?
[2011/11/15 16:22] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I don't have it, sorry
[2011/11/15 16:23] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): but yes, the spaces we design here
[2011/11/15 16:23] Alizarin Goldflake: yes this is a whole new world for my brain
[2011/11/15 16:24] Alizarin Goldflake: will there be a transcript of this conference?
[2011/11/15 16:25] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): unclear. there will be some kind of reporting I'm sure
[2011/11/15 16:25] Lnn Nishi: I was wondering if this conference is being taped for later? I imagine there are people who were not ableto attend in either world
[2011/11/15 16:26] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): we'll find out
[2011/11/15 16:27] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): depends on if they got clearances from each of the speakers
[2011/11/15 16:27] Lnn Nishi: Thanks
[2011/11/15 16:27] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): and if they have the funding to do the post-processing to make it available online
[2011/11/15 16:27] Alizarin Goldflake: how is this a workshop - it seems to be a lecture
[2011/11/15 16:28] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): this is the intro to the workshop
[2011/11/15 16:28] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): should be wrapping up
[2011/11/15 16:28] Alizarin Goldflake: it is great - not complaining
[2011/11/15 16:28] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I know. its a valid question
[2011/11/15 16:28] Alizarin Goldflake: but that leaves like 30 minutes for the workshop
[2011/11/15 16:29] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I know
[2011/11/15 16:29] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that's right
[2011/11/15 16:29] Bjorlyn Loon: .
[2011/11/15 16:32] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): sorry I don't have the document to share with you
[2011/11/15 16:33] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): The Tech Museum has several computer terminals in the museum loaded with SL
[2011/11/15 16:33] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): how to integrate the SL experience with the rest of the museum
[2011/11/15 16:33] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): and extend beyond their museum visit
[2011/11/15 16:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): What's missing: something physical
[2011/11/15 16:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): no movement
[2011/11/15 16:35] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): someone suggested moving the computers outside!
[2011/11/15 16:37] Alizarin Goldflake: let the visitors come to Tech Virtual to a model of the rl museum?
[2011/11/15 16:37] Alizarin Goldflake: ie they can do the rl museum via sl
[2011/11/15 16:38] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): right
[2011/11/15 16:38] Alizarin Goldflake: this part is way too short
[2011/11/15 16:38] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I think Tech Virtual has models of actual RW exhibitis
[2011/11/15 16:38] Alizarin Goldflake: yes
[2011/11/15 16:39] Alizarin Goldflake: but you want to relate the sl Tech museum experience to Tech RL
[2011/11/15 16:41] Alizarin Goldflake: wow i am so bleary i am trying to copy paste off the video screen :(
[2011/11/15 16:41] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): lol

[2011/11/15 16:43] Alizarin Goldflake: i was kind of surprised he didnt have the video
[2011/11/15 16:44] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I think it was a last minute addition
[2011/11/15 16:44] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I didn't think JIBE worlds supported embedded video
[2011/11/15 16:44] Alizarin Goldflake: so the deal was have the channel going on the internet and then chat about it in JIBE
[2011/11/15 16:45] Alizarin Goldflake: this experience at Tech Virtual is far superior
[2011/11/15 16:45] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): :)
